Task #1: Two types of biases that critics have found in Kohlberg's theory are culturally based and color based. back in the slavery days. The white people thought they where so much more superior then the black because of the color of their skin. They did not allow blacks to be educated. The white people made the blacks do all the work but in reality the white people where worth nothing because the blacks did everything for them. If it hadn't been for the blacks the white man would have nothing. The blacks built everything so if it wasn't for the black man the white man would be nothing and here we are hundreds of years later our country is being lead by a black man. Task #2:
Task #3:Urie Bronfenbrenner (1917-2005) wanted to know the process of human development was through the many different levels of interaction between an individual and his/her environment. This led to his studied of Ecological System Theory. The ecological system theory is how a child's development is affected by their environment and social relationship around them. This theory helps us understand why someones behavior may be different when they are around family, friends, school, and work. Bronfenbrenner came up with five different levels of the system theory: Macrosystem, Exosystem, Mesosystem, Mircosystem, and Chronosystem. The Break Down of Ecological System Theory:
How It Influence Me:After taking a few minutes reflecting back on my life and thinking about the ecological system theory I can see and understand what things have shaped my life and develop the way I am today. I can see how the Mircosystem has affected my life with my family and how my coaches have had a big impact on my life and help shape my future for me with going to college and the life lessons the have tough me that I can pass on to my kids. References:Mary Ainsworth (1913-1999) was a American/Canadian who started off in Ohio then move to Canada. Ainsworth studied the Development Theory of Attachment. She wanted to be able to understand the attachment developed between a infant and their mother. Ainsworth conducted a experiment with a mother with her infant and a stranger. Ainsworth was able to come up with three stages of attachment "Secure, Ambivalent, and Avoident Attachment". Strange Situation Procedures :
Ainsworth's Attachment Theory In Modern Times:I think Ainsworth attachment theory is still in affect as the same as it was years ago because I feel like there will always be that mother infant attachment along with the stranger situation. I think Ainsworth would see that infants and their mother would be the same as if was when she made the study. I would say that Ainsworth theory's are still alive and is in most of everyone's families today. References:
References:Lawrence Kohlberg (1927-1987) was the developer of the Moral Stage Development. Kohlberg would tell a story of of someone who would be treated unfairly and ask them a series of hypothetical questions . Based on the responds of the questions he asked he would determined if the answer were moral or not. That's when Kohlberg came up with the three different levels of moral development. The reason why they are more level then stages is because each level overlap each other so there could be no stages in between so he came up with sub-levels. Level #1: Pre-conventional Morality Stage #1: Punishment- Obedience Orientation Stage #2: Instrumental Relativist Orientation (most of the test subjects were around nine years old)
Level #2: Conventional Morality Stage #3: Good Interpersonal Relationship Stage #4: Maintaining Social Order
Level #3: Post-conventional Morality Stage #5: Social Contract and Individual Rights Stage #6: Universal Principles
Questions:#1. Should Heinz stolen the drug? No Heinz should not of stolen the drug. Morally it was not the right thing to do and it was illegal. I would say if I was in the same situation as Heinz I think I would of did the same thing. #2. Would it change anything if Heinz didn't love his wife? weather or not if Heinz loved her, he stole it just to make her better. If it was me and it was my wife and she was dying I would still steal the drug if I loved her or not. #3. What if the person dying was a stranger, would it make any difference? If it was a stranger and he still stole the drug I would say that he was doing it out of a act of kindness. Personally to me it would make a difference that I would not steal the drug. #4. Should the police arrest the chemist if the woman dies? No the police officer should not arrest the chemist. Even tho the chemist was rude and was unfair the chemist should not have any relation to the woman's death. #5. What stage do you think you are at? References:
Stage #1: OralStage one of Freud's theory is the Oral stage. The oral stage accrues from birth to about eighteen months. In this stage the infant finds immense pleasure in the use of their mouth. This is the reason why infants put everything into their month. Well the infant is going through this stage they are still fully dependent on their caretaker and this is when they develop their rooting and sucking reflex. Stage #2: AnalStage two of Freud's theory is the Anal stage. The anal stage accrues from eighteen months to about three years of age. In this stage Freud theory was that this stage was the development and control of the bladder and bowel movements which makes the big step in this stage is toilet training. In this stage the young child finds pleasure in going to the bathroom and finds joy in going potty. When coming to potty training there are two different ways it affects their personality. one would be that it would make the person anally explosive meaning that they have a limited amount of self-control the other they could become anally retentive meaning they are obsessively organized. Stage #3: PhallicStage three of Freud's theory is the Phallic stage. The phallic stage accrues from age three to around six years of age. This stage is when the children start to discover the differences of boys and girls and more focus on the genitals. During this stage is when the term Mamma's boy or Daddy's girl come from because the young children are attractive to the opposite gender and Freud believes that boys begin to view their fathers as a rival for the mother’s affections. In this stage there are two different sides. One side is for boys and the other is girls. Both gender of children will go through similar set of feelings. For the girl they will go through the term called Electra complex and the boys with go through the penis envy. the child begins to identify the same-sex parent and start to learn how to become a man or woman. Stage #4: LatencyStage four of Freud's theory is the Latency stage. The latency stage accrues from age six to puberty. This stage begins around the time they enter into schooling and the development of the ego and the superego. This stage is when the child figures out their interests and try to understand their own personal identity. During this point the sexual energy is still present but it is directed into other areas and so this is when the children have a lot of the same sex friends increase. Stage #5: GenitalStage five of Freud's theory is the Genital stage. The genital stage accrues from puberty to death. During this stage the sexual urges arouse once more and make both of the opposite gender interested in one another. People who successfully completed the other stages should be well balance, warning, and caring. References: Erik Erikson was an ego psychologists who developed one of the most popular and influential theories of development. Erikson was influenced by psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud but Erikson wanted to focus his theory more on personality. Erikson believed that a persons personality was more developed over a social experience of a persons lifespan in stages rather then just early on development. Stage #1: Infancy |
The seventh stage of Erikson's theory is generativity vs. Stagnation this stage accrues from age twenty six to sixty five years of age. In this stage the adult continues to build on their development by focusing on their careers and family. During this stage this the adult will feel that they are contributing to the world by being active in their home and community. In this stage the achievement you should get from this stage is successfully being proud of your accomplishments, watching your children grow up into adults, and being with your life long partner. |
Stage #8: Old Age
Integrity vs. Despair
(65-Death)
The last and final stage of Erikson's theory is Integrity vs. Despair this stage accrues from age sixty five to death. This stage happens in old age when the elder start to reflecting back on life. During this stage is when the elder start to feel like if their life was a waste and have many regrets or if they feel accomplished and a general feeling of satisfaction.

Jean Piaget's was a developmental psychologist who study children through their developmental stages from the ages of birth to young adulthood. Piaget study the children by watching and listening to them to understand there development and came up with the four stages of cognitive development.
Stage 1: The first stage is called the Sensorimotor stage. The first stage ranges from birth to about two years of age. This is where the infant is trying to make sense of the world and everything around them and try to develop their skills and abilities they are born with such as looking, sucking, grasping, and listening. Stage 2: The second stage is called the Preoperational stage. The second stage ranges from two-seven years of age. This stage is where the young children learn to talk, role play, and pretending. This is also where the child starts to put words with objects and able to recognize color. although the child is learning and are making a lot of progress in their development. Stage #3: The third stage is called the concrete operational stage. The third stage ranges from seven- eleven years of age. This is where the child beings to have better understand and starts thinking logically about things. Stage #4: The four stage is called the formal operational stage. The four stage is the final stage that ranges from twelve years of age - to death. The final stage is where the young adult develop the ability to think about abstract concepts and skills such as logical thoughts, deductive reasoning and systematic planning. | Stage #1 Stage #2 Stage #3 Stage #4 |

This course is much different than before with all the technology and standards. This class is going to be much harder for me I think with the technology base and standers because I am not a very high tech kind of person. I do think that this class is going to be better than Psych 1 because it is more project base rather than test and I like that so I am just going to treat this whole class as one big project based on that we are making our own website and just adding things to it.
Portfolio #1: I visited Kenzie's Portfolio and it is very well done to what I can see and I like how organized it is and how her whole website just kinda flows together. I also like her title it is very creative. I know that I mite use her as a guide-line along the way so when I'm not sure what to do I can look at her's and she what she did and help improve mine.
Portfolio #2: I visited Caylana's Portfolio and it was very plan did not like it and her's was not finish and her layout is not correct. I do not want my web site to look like her's.
Portfolio #3: I visited Little Bay's Portfolio and I like how organized she is and all the info she has on her website. One thing I did not like was that she used the same picture over and over instead of giving each page its own different kind of feel to it. Other then that I feel like Little Bay's website and would be a good help to my knowledge.
