Arttical: What Students Should Really Hear
The teacher in this article is saying that some students may think that high school is dumb and hard , some will want to quit, some will thrive on the educational learning. but the real lesson about high school is the school of hard knocks. which means you are really learning how to handle life, emotion, friendships, bulling, how you choose to handle these kinds of situations can show what kind of adult you will grow up to be.
A teenagers point of view does not see what the teacher is saying. they just look at what is in front of them. They see books to read papers to write, and what is happening Friday night. Not all students are serious about their class work. some understand they need good grades because they want to go to college and further their education. some just want to get out of school, so they never have to open a book again. some will do the work but are not sure what they want to do after school. students do not see high school the same way as this teacher sees it.
What should be the point of high school?
It should be preparing you for real life, figuring out what you want to do in life, hands on training. Not books and history.
If you step back and think about what you have shown thus far in high school, what have you shown the world?
I am hard working and willing to do the work.
Have you proven yourself to be a hard worker who will succeed at all cost?
No I think I could do better at some things. The things I like I can achieve above and beyond. But the things I don't like as well I do just enough to get by on.
Have you demonstrated that you will be someone who will always take the easy way out?
No if I don't want to do it I just don't do it. Not the best attitude to have but is what it is.
what does your high school self say about the type of adult you will be in the future?
I will care about others and myself. I will put the important things first.

Song: Letter To Me By: Brad Paisley
Letter To Old-self: Freshman Year
Dear MavRick
I know that tomorrow is your first day of high school and I know what your future has to hold for you and things to try to avoid. How do you ask? This is a letter from you but from the future and I wrote this letter to give to you so you do but don't do the same mistakes as I did. First thing I would like to warn you about is to listen to your sister when she tells you that you shouldn't date someone because she was right ..... trust me you will find this girl later on in the year that you will be together for a very long time. The one thing I have to warn you about that is to never give her a note that you write in class to break-up it will be one thing you will regret for a long time. Then one day when you are at the beach you will meet this girl and you think she is cool. Stay away from her, she is like crazy about you and she wont leave you alone and just make things a mess.
One thing I would tell you is to keep up the hard work for football and that keep telling yourself that you will make varsity your sophomore year because you will. Oh yea by the way listen to your mother when she says to get your knee checked out when you hurt it because she was right there is something wrong with it. Then when it comes to your senior year of football don't be stupid and tell yourself that you aren't going to college because you will miss out on one of the best opportunist you'll get then you will regret it and kick yourself in the butt.
Another thing is that you are going to have a group of friends that are amazing and you guys do everything with and they are like family to you. One thing I have to say is that you guys do some cray stuff and actually a lot of them are dumb but fun just when it gets to a point in time you will have to step back from it all just don't take to long to get back together with your buddies because if you wait to long it will feel like you are losing them.
Good luck to you,
From your future-self
Letter To My Future-self: 50th Birthday
Dear 50 year old self,
I hope that I have a average size family with one boy and two girls. We will have a nice house in the woods and lots of area for the kids to play. I hope to have a great job as an electrician. My wife will be an ex-playboy model with a masters in education. We will make a great team. Family should be the most important thing in my life. I will try my hardest to hold on to the friendships that I have gained over the years. These guys are true friends and are hard to come by. Life is so complicated, as I peal back the layers, I will discover that money is not everything. I hope the values that I was taught years ago will make me a strong, selfless, loving man. I hope to pass this on to my children so that they will be steered in the right direction.
Sincerely,
My 18 year old self
