Today's Gender Roles In Today's Society:
I think when it comes to gender roles in today's society I feel like it is emphasis to much. I think that us as a society have to much as a guy/girl only thought processes as in only guys can do this or like only girls can do that when in reality it should be fine for guys and girl to do the same things. I would say after reading the articles "'Men are stuck' in Gender Roles" and "Are Men and Women's Roles in Society Changing?" I feel like guys have it harder in today's society then woman. Just like the woman who wrote the article Men are Stuck' in Gender Roles, said "If a little girl is running around on the baseball team with her mitt, people think, 'That's a strong girl,'" said her husband, Matt Duron, who, like his wife, uses a pen name to shield the boy's identity. "When my 6-year-old is running around in a dress, people think there's something wrong with him." I feel like this is true in many different cases in our today's society. I also think that with the way things are going and the way our future is heading is that guys gender roles are going to change, along with woman's, not all of them but some. I feel like this transition is going to be slow but difficult do to the pedestal that guys are held up to. If I had to say which gender is gonna have it harder in the future I would say guys are. Why you mite ask? Because woman are still pushing forward more then what man are and that because the white man has always been at the top for so long that they just expect it to be the same when in reality woman are making that change.
